Why You Should Use Email Marketing



You have built your website, created business pages on a few social media platforms and started spreading the word that you are open for business. Now it is time to think of ways to market your business products and services.


You decide to drop some cash on a Facebook ad thinking, “This is the platform everybody is on and people constantly check Facebook”. By the end of your Facebook ad campaign, you spent up to $100 and only receive one client who asked if you do projects outside the realm of your business.


This year, Facebook changed their algorithm which cut back on a business page’s post visibility to others (Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement). “Facebook was built to bring people closer together and build relationships. One of the ways we do this is by connecting people to meaningful posts from their friends and family in News Feed.” Great for family, bad for business.


Just like any other social media platform, you are not 100% in control and these platforms have the right to change anything at any moment (YouTube also went through a similar change earlier this year). Building an audience with email marketing is as easy as creating a sign up form on your website and promoting new products, classes, content, or even free guides or e-books. This ensures your viewers can stay connected to you, even if they are not ready to buy just yet. But when they are, they will be reminded of you with their inbox.


I can also mention that email marketing has a great ROI. According to WordStream, consumers who purchase products through email spend 138% more than those that don’t receive email offers. You cannot beat that kind of profit if you are spending $0 to send out emails! Not to mention, everybody has their email connected to their mobile device so your message will get to your audience quickly.
